Agricoilture

“The industry has received scrutiny for how it disposes of undrinkable water produced during oil drilling. … In many instances, that water is provided to agriculture to grow crops.” (http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/04/02/us-usa-drought-california-oil-idUKKBN0MT05K20150402)

Another example of industry generously oiling the wheels, weeds and weevils.

Agrilomania

“Some scientists working for the federal government are finding their research restricted or censored when it conflicts with agribusiness industry interests. … ‘Your words are changed, your papers are censored or edited or you are not allowed to submit them at all,’ said the scientist, who asked not to be named.” (http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/03/28/us-usda-petition-idUKKBN0MN2RI20150328)

That’s hard to beelieve.

Target

If the Australian renewable energy target is cut, “it’s the type of jolt to industry that basically would create such an upheaval that you would have a mass exodus.” (http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/02/09/us-australia-windfarms-idUKKBN0LC00C20150209)

Perhaps the target fixers need an electrical jolt up the mass exodus.

Decoke

“An over-sympathy for the [coal] industry to date in Scotland has led to a culture of light touch regulation.” (http://www.rspb.org.uk/media/releases/365078-rspb-scotland-calls-for-a-new-independent-body-to-regulate-the-open-cast-coal-industry-)

For the environment that’s ‘light touch paper and stand well back’ regulation.
